Sooooo it's been a few days (or months) since I've officially blogged here. Whoops. I'm sorry (not really), but I've been busy doing real work at my big time advertising gig. Oh, and writing restaurant reviews on Yelp. And watching Hoarders while holding my dog down so he can't get any of my ice cream.

Well, the good news is now that all of my "readers" have probably given up on me ever updating this thing I can blog freely. (Mom, if you're still reading this STOP IT!)

As you know, my boyfriend works at a bar. That means he works nights....which leaves me all alone M/W/F nights. Boooo hoo hoo. Plus, I've come to the realization that my "friends" suck and don't like doing anything that involves fun (ugh that's a whole other post). Put those two facts together and you have me dancing on a pole. GASP!

Yep, I started taking pole dancing lessons. It sure beats staying home alone and boy are my arms tired and my legs bruised. I have a whole new appreciation for stripppers...or do you call them exotic dancers? Anyway, if I ever lose my big time advertising gig please come see at Spearmint Rhino in Dallas. (I'm not even kidding.)

At the end of my 6-week pole dancing journey I have to do a 4 min. solo "dance" in front of my entire "dance" class. Yikes! And the teacher films it. DOUBLE YIKES! But I can do it to whatever song I want....which is harder to choose that you think. It's all I can think about lately. It's consumed me. Should it be hip hop so I can shake my booty? Or should it be rock so I can channel my inner '80s slut? And should I wear heels? Bare feet? Rubber boots? I mean there are just SO many choices to make....all because of a pole.

Oh, and I'm thinking of buying a pole for my apartment. Tacky? Sorta. Needed for practice? Yep. And yes, the boyfriend is excited. Little does he know he's going to have to move his office desk so I can install my slut-machine.

Last night my friends and I tried hot yoga. 90 minutes + 100 degrees + gallons of sweat + almost passing out = a surprisingly good time!

The weirdest part was how refreshed and energetic I felt afterwards. When I got home I actually played with my dog instead of watching TV. I think it's safe to say I'm already hooked....who knew I'd swoon over sweat? I highly suggest you try it out. Sunstone Yoga offers 10 classes for only $10 to new students.

Fashion Week 2009 Sucks (So Far)

I've been following the shows through the New York Times slideshows. The only collection I've been excited about so far is the Zac Posen line...be sure and watch his slide show. I swoon over this little guy every day. His tiny beard, his fat tummy, the way he props his head on my lap while I ignore him to watch TV. I love it all! It's like having a child without all the excessive crying and dirty diapers. Plus, I can just leave him home alone and he's cool with it. Babies are not cool with it.

I love cheese. So much so that the cheese wall at Central Market makes me swoon...and sometimes tear up a bit. But making cheese selections is an arduous task. If you pay $15 for a tiny wedge it better taste damn good...otherwise you're just a dumbass who paid $15 for stinky cheese.

Anna Sui’s Gossip Girl-inspired collection for Target launches this weekend. Are you excited? I'm not sure if I am. I think I might be setting myself up for disappointment. With over 90% of the collection being dresses, I'd better stock up on tights and boots if I want to get the fashionista Sui look. And by cheap I mean an average of $60 per dress....pretty pricey for Target.

Bat For Lashes isn't a band, it's Natasha Khan. And she just released a new concept album called Two Suns that you need to buy today. It focuses on her desert born alter ego Pearl, a personality she adopted while staying in New York in order to gain a better understanding of the character. Batty? Yes, but I love it.

Last month, along with just about every lesbian couple in Dallas, I saw her live at The Loft in Dallas with my boyfriend. It was a pretty amazing show. She played piano for most of the night and even though she's a tiny little lady she belted out the tunes and gave me goose-bumps with her eerie voice.
